Overview
Tekivo ("we," "our," or "us") operates the following mobile applications available on the Apple App Store:
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our apps. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our guiding principle is simple: we collect only what is strictly necessary for the app to function, and we never sell your data.
💡 Short version
All Tekivo apps are ad-free and we do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or third-party marketers. Most of our apps work entirely on your device with no account required.
Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on which app you use. In general, we may collect:
- Location data — only when you grant permission, and only to provide location-based features (such as prayer times or Qibla direction in Qibrah). This data is processed on-device and is not stored on our servers.
- Device network information — your local Wi-Fi network details (device IP addresses on the same network) used solely to discover and connect to your Smart TVs or external displays. This data never leaves your local network.
- Screen and display data — temporarily captured and transmitted strictly over your local Wi-Fi network to enable screen mirroring features (in iMirroring). This data is never recorded, saved, or sent to our servers.
- App usage data — anonymous, aggregated crash reports and basic performance analytics collected via Apple's built-in frameworks (if you have opted in via iOS settings). We do not receive personally identifiable information from these reports.
- In-app preferences and progress — settings, bookmarks, and reading progress stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage (UserDefaults / Core Data). This data stays on your device.
📵 No accounts required
None of our apps require you to create an account, register an email address, or provide any personal details to use the core features.
App-Specific Details
Here is a breakdown of what each app accesses and why:
Gloaming Tales — Bedtime Stories
Data collected: None. Gloaming Tales does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.
Permissions used: Audio playback (to narrate stories). No microphone access, no location, no contacts.
Child safety: This app is designed for young children. It is fully ad-free, contains no in-app purchases beyond optional unlocks, and has no social or network features.
iMirroring — Screen Extension
Data collected: Local network information (to discover your devices) and temporary screen capture data to enable screen casting. This stream flows directly between your paired devices securely on your local Wi-Fi network. We do not intercept, view, record, or store your screen data.
Permissions used: Local Network access (to find your displays via Bonjour) and Screen Recording (required by Apple's ReplayKit to capture and broadcast your display).
No cloud: iMirroring works entirely offline over your local router. No accounts, internet connection, or external servers are involved in the mirroring process.
Qibrah — Islamic Companion
Data collected: Approximate or precise location (with your permission) to calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction for your area. This location is used in real time and is not stored, transmitted, or logged.
Permissions used: Location (while using the app or once, depending on your preference). Your Quran reading progress and bookmarks are stored locally on your device only.
Audio: Adhan and Quran recitation audio files are bundled with the app or streamed; no microphone access is required or requested.
Universal Remote TV
Data collected: Local network information (IP addresses of devices on your Wi-Fi network) to discover and communicate with your Smart TV. This communication happens entirely within your local network and no data is sent to Tekivo servers.
Permissions used: Local Network access (required by iOS to find devices on your Wi-Fi). The app does not access the internet for any remote-control functionality.
No cloud: Your TV preferences and connection history are stored locally on your device only.
How We Use Information
Any information processed by our apps is used exclusively to provide the features you requested. Specifically:
- Location data is used only to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction — never for advertising, tracking, or profiling.
- Local network and screen data is used strictly for device communication and screen broadcasting — it never leaves your home network.
- Crash and performance data (if opted in via iOS) is used only to fix bugs and improve stability.
- We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the app.
Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. Our apps may rely on the following trusted services:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — handles any in-app purchases securely. We never see your payment details.
- Apple CloudKit / iCloud — if used for backup of your preferences, governed entirely by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Apple CrashKit / MetricKit — anonymous crash and performance data, if you have enabled "Share with App Developers" in your iOS settings.
We do not integrate any third-party advertising SDKs, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that collect personal data.
Data Retention
Because most data is stored locally on your device, you are in full control. You can delete all app data at any time by:
- Deleting the app from your iPhone, iPad, or Mac — this removes all locally stored data.
- Going to Settings → [App Name] → Reset (where available within the app).
We do not maintain server-side profiles or databases linked to individual users. There is no data to request deletion of from our side.
Children's Privacy
Gloaming Tales is specifically designed for young children and family use. We take children's privacy extremely seriously.
🛡️ Our commitment for Gloaming Tales
Gloaming Tales collects zero personal data from any user, including children. There are no accounts, no logins, no chat features, no advertising, and no links to external websites within the app. It complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's guidelines for Kids category apps.
For our other apps — Qibrah, Universal Remote TV, and iMirroring — they are not directed at children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@tekivo.org and we will address it promptly.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:
- Right of access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to deletion — request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Right to object — object to certain types of processing.
Because we collect minimal data and store most information locally on your device, the most effective way to exercise these rights is to delete the app. For anything further, contact us at contact@tekivo.org.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any information processed by our apps. Since our apps are designed to operate primarily on-device:
- All local data is protected by iOS/macOS's built-in device encryption and sandboxing.
- Network communications (where applicable) are limited to your local Wi-Fi network.
- We do not operate servers that store your personal data, eliminating the risk of server-side data breaches affecting your information.
No method of data storage or transmission is 100% secure. If you have security concerns, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our apps or applicable law. When we do:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- For material changes, we will provide notice via an in-app notification or App Store update notes.
- Continued use of our apps after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
